As a leader in organizations, one of our biggest stressors is the “difficult person” on our team. Google “managing difficult people” and you will get over 3 million results, from leadership books and survival guides to Top 10 lists, and rarely does number 7 amaze anyone. Too often at work, however, it is like dealing with a picky four-year-old; eventually you get worn down and everyone gets mac and cheese.
The good news is that the leadership techniques we rely on to engage and inspire employees everyday are the same ones we need to enhance when faced with disruptive behavior. In this session we will explore ways we can up our game and help support other leaders to up theirs to reshape behaviors to align with team success.
