The Vermont Economy Talks, what’s on your mind?
In Vermont, we enjoy talking about a lot of things: our values, our communities, our incredible outdoors. But one thing we do not always find so interesting is the topic of our economy. In fact, sometimes we avoid the conversation altogether.
But here is the thing. Without a sustainable, healthy, and thoughtful approach to economic growth, the future of Vermont and the way of life that many values could be deeply at risk. Without new and scalable sources of revenue – and more of the people and business who can help drive it – it will only become more difficult to fund the kind of opportunities, social and equity resources and environmental stewardship that make Vermont, Vermont. If the events of the past year have taught us anything, it is that both our health and our economy shouldn’t be taken for granted. The time is now to learn and be engaged in understanding our economy on both a state and personal level.
Join Lori Smith, Executive Director of the Vermont Futures Project, to engage and learn more how employers and human resource leaders are key players in a new economic campaign, The Vermont Economy Talks, a platform that will humanize economic concepts, business growth and opportunity and how they relate to our future economy. Lori will be joined with Kelly Krayewsky from Revision Military to present a coordinated effort giving a greater voice to businesses and their employees on the way we talk about our economy through data and dynamic conversation.
The Vermont Futures Project is a research and education organization focused on using data, partnerships, and policy development to secure Vermont’s economic future.
