Thank you Dolly!
Back in 1969, several ded
icated "Personnel Directors" joined together to form the Vermont Personnel Association. It is with great regret that one of those founding members is stepping away from our Board of Directors and organization. Dolly Shaw has dedicated her career to helping others in the human resource profession. She has diligently developed day long programs and breakfast meetings; from seeking out professional speakers to putting flyers on the tables. With her awesome sidekick, Pat Boera, they have been the busy bees behind the scenes. Dolly has also led the membership charge and has seen the association grow to over 350 professional, associate members and students. She has also been very involved on the State Council level for many years.
Dolly is heading out west to spend some time with her family. She rallied her final program this past month by coordinating several different presentations for our first day long program of the year. As usual, another exemplary job by a woman totally dedicated to her profession and the education of others.
Please join us in thanking Dolly for her tenure and wish her the very best in whatever she pursues next. Thank you Dolly for your MANY years of service! You have set the bar high and have trained us well. We will miss you.

FINANCIAL WELLNESS – WHY IT MATTERS TO YOU
February 18, 2015 - Hilton, Burlington
In these economic times, many employees are struggling with money issues on a daily basis from worrying about paying bills or catching up financially to concerns about retirement. Financial education can lower your stress and that of your employees. According to the American Psychological Association, 76 percent of workers cite the state of their personal finances as a major cause of stress. Worries about finances lead to greater absenteeism and lower productivity. Individuals with basic financial knowledge are happier and more productive employees!
This personal financial wellness program will focus on giving you knowledge and skills to help employees enhance financial health and lower stress through a clearer understanding of what financial health means and how it can be optimized. We will explore the ways money affects our lives and how we can come from a balanced approach when interacting with it on a daily basis. You will learn what you and your employees can do to make your finances work for you. Maintaining balance consists of being comfortable with where your money comes from and where it is going. Information will be given on wise spending, intelligent investing and what to learn next on your financial wellness path. Come listen, learn and laugh about what role money plays in our lives.
